Sonoma

San Francisco

I haven't visited San Francisco in about two years now, so for my 31st birthday I decided to make the trek up north to visit some close friends and bring in the big 3-1 with some new adventure!

I took Friday off and took an early morning flight to SFO. Upon arrival I went straight to China town for some Dim Sum and authentic Chinese Food. Memories began pouring back from my last trip I took here with my sister. We had a blast exploring the city together and being back in SF made me nostalgic of our trip together, particularly walking through China town.

I stayed with my friends Shivani and Ajay who I met in Costa Rica during my holiday yoga retreat and have stayed in touch with them ever since. They live in the Mission so we went to a lot of great restaurants and bars in that area. We grabbed drinks at ABV and went to dinner at Frances that night. Both were delicious and highly recommended! After dinner we went to a swanky bar called Bourbon & Branch. They specialize in mixed drinks, whiskey and the theme overall is super trendy. We had to give a password at the door to enter, which was sent to us after reservations were made. I had never experienced this before in LA!

The next morning we met with another friend Mouy who I also met in Costa Rica and have seen a few times since that retreat. We caught up with her for a bit before our reservations at a few wineries in Napa/Sonoma. The first place we went to was called Domaine Carneros Winery which specializes in sparkling flights and Pinot Noir. Then we went to Scribe, a hipster winery for a food/wine pairing. Sonoma was beautiful and I'm so glad we got to experience it.

The following day I met up with my college roommate Brittany at the Giants Game. Boy was it a hot day! So many people said it was going to be a cool weekend, but I think I brought Los Angeles weather with me. I had never been to the Giants stadium which beautifully looked over the water! We experienced beautiful weather, I loved the stadium and had a great time catching up with Brittany! At night the SF eating tour continued and we went to dinner at an Indian restaurant called Dosa in the Mission!

The next morning was my birthday!!!! In all my SF visits I had never been to Sausalito so that's what I wanted to do for my birthday. Shivani and I spoiled ourselves and booked massages at Cavallo Point and had a nice day of girl time and pampering.

An overall great weekend with lots of good food, lots of great friends and fun exploration of the city. When I look back on this past year I am extremely grateful for so many things. My family, health, travels, friends and to be able to wake up every morning and do what I love most. Birthdays are always a time of reflection for me and I can honestly say that 30 was the best year yet! I look forward to what this next year brings!
